I've been involved in countless ways with members of Beatnik Filmstars since 1988 ... and I'm pleased to say Andrew & Co. have just completed a new album, which will be released shorlty by The Track & Field Organisation. If you're unfamiliar with the band, visit their site: to say Andrew's biography is detailed would be an understatement.

The Hideki Kaji project is well under way. The album is to have a very loose Spaghetti Western theme. More news to follow.

MTV's This is Our Music came to Salisbury a couple of weeks ago to record a half-hour documentary dedicated to Mike Alway's labels, past and present. Reporter Marcus Törncrantz interviewed various members of the cast, including a live perfomance by Kevin Wright (Mr Wright) and a short Sixth Form video clip. The programme is scheduled for airing in November.

The Sixth Form and Continuous Electric Now albums are set for release in January. Album details, artwork etc. will be released nearer the time, but for now, expect a juxtaposition of the extreme avant garde and lush harmony, with influences spanning four decades (or should that be centuries?). As soon as I've checked the copyright situation, I'll put some MP3s on line.

Rambling Records, Japan, have just released a retrospective album - All About Mike Alway - featuring several of our earlier tracks, alongside classic él and Cherry classics by Everything But The Girl, Marden Hill, Hunky Dory etc., plus a sneak preview into the world of the Sixth Form.
Matty's solo album - The Tallboy: Goes On - is available on Red Square Records...and comes highly recommended. For further information, visit Matty's own Tallboy site.
It's been a quiet couple of years really, the only real highlight being Iggy Pop's nomination of Zap The World for the 2002 Shortlist Award. A new Death By Chocolate album is in the planning stage...watch this space!
